3 Ways to Lose. Just way to win.

Goldilocks for bank AI: too little, too much, or too reckless. There is only one way to get it right.

Build out practical AI solutions to real business problems. Put in proper guardrails and “control panes” to ensure governance. “Right size” your investment in new capabilities, matched to the business needs and process owners that will both benefit and ensure alignment/control.

Why it sits here. The DFW job story is not ‘AI replaces the bank.’ It is whether campuses in Plano, Irving, and Westlake hire for governed, problem-shaped AI — or for FOMO stacks that never compound.

    Dumbing Down Intelligence

Semantics fogged up the windshield. We can’t see the AI revolution clearly — so we argue definitions instead of using the tools.

Computers already do some things WAY BETTER than humans. AGI and human intelligence have SOME overlap in the Venn diagram. AGI is complementary to human intelligence.

Why it sits here. For Y’All Street employers, the useful question is not ‘has AGI arrived?’ It is where complementary AI already changes underwriting, ops, fraud, and the talent mix on the Tollway.

    Wright, Wrong and Moore's Laws

Falling unit cost of compute does not mean we spend less. Jevons Paradox: we buy more — in units and in dollars.

As the cost of compute continues to fall... We buy MORE. Not just more units, but more in aggregate dollars spent. This is Jevons Paradox: improvements in efficiency of resource use tend to increase (not decrease) overall consumption of that resource.

Why it sits here. That is the DFW data-center and bank-AI story in one line: efficiency at the model layer is expanding, not shrinking, the regional compute and engineering footprint.

    What SOT actually does

Strategy, Operations and Technology — a cross-functional shop for licensed banks, credit unions, and fintech partners. Including a recent stablecoin launch for a large credit union.

What is “SOT”? Strategy, Operations and Technology. It’s a cross-functional consulting firm. We drive innovation in regulated finance orgs. We work with licensed banks & credit unions, partner with fintechs… Recently quarterbacked a stablecoin launch initiative for a large credit union.

Why it sits here. The GENIUS Act made payment stablecoins a bank-and-credit-union product, not a crypto-only product. North Texas community institutions now have a live playbook, not a white paper.
